Peter McCarthy

Peter McCarthy serves as the VP of Legal, Corporate Affairs & People at Virgin Media Ireland since March 2017, holding the role of Director & Company Secretary and a position on the Board. Responsibilities include overseeing Legal, Privacy, Regulatory, Human Resources, Learning & Development, Public Policy, Internal & External Communications, ESG, and CSR. Previous roles at Virgin Media include VP Legal & Corporate Affairs and VP Legal, with significant involvement in corporate governance, strategic negotiations, and data privacy matters. Prior to Virgin Media, Peter was the Head of Legal at UPC Communications Ireland, providing comprehensive legal support across various business functions. An associate solicitor at Brian O'Donnell & Partners focused on litigation and commercial contracts. Peter holds a BA LLB (Hons) from NUI Galway and a Diploma in Intellectual Property and IT Law from the Law Society of Ireland.
