Head Of IT Operations at Virgin Wines

Duncan Hardy MBCS has a diverse and extensive work experience history. Duncan is currently serving as the Head of IT Operations at Virgin Wines since September 2022. Prior to this, Duncan worked at Applied Satellite Technology Ltd from December 2020 to September 2022 as the Group Technology and Infrastructure Manager. Duncan also held the position of Lead Solutions Architect at Cranswick Country Foods PLC from March to November 2020.

Before their roles at Virgin Wines, Duncan served as the IT Manager at Care UK from March 2018 to January 2020. During their time there, they established and developed a new standalone IT department for the Residential Care Services business. Duncan was responsible for supporting multiple sites across the UK with an IT service desk and infrastructure services.

Duncan's earlier experience includes various roles at Associated British Ports, where they worked as a Technical Architect from September 2014 to October 2017. Duncan also held the position of Group Security and Technology Officer during the same time. Prior to this, they served as an IT Infrastructure Manager at the company from 2002 to 2012.

Additionally, Duncan worked as a Technology Consultant at The Technologies Group from 1998 to 2002, a Network Support Engineer at Bull Information Systems from 1997 to 1998, and a Technical Support Analyst at Waveney District Council from 1994 to 1997.

Duncan Hardy MBCS completed their Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of East Anglia between 1990 and 1993.

In terms of additional certifications, Duncan obtained the Lean Six Sigma White Belt Certification from the Management & Strategy Institute in September 2020. Duncan also received the Level 1: Trustee Exam Certification from CyberArk in September 2020.

Furthermore, Duncan has acquired several certifications on various subjects: Artificial Intelligence Foundations: Machine Learning, Blockchain Basics, Developing Your Emotional Intelligence, Getting Started in User Experience, and Managing Stress for Positive Change, all from LinkedIn in January 2020. Duncan also obtained the Togaf 9 certification from The Open Group in August 2016. Additionally, Duncan holds the Certified Ethical Hacker certification from EC-Council, obtained in February 2013.

Regarding network security, Duncan has achieved two certifications from Fortinet: Fortinet Network Security Expert Certification NSE Level 1 and Fortinet Network Security Expert Certification NSE Level 2, both attained in August 2020. However, the specific month is not provided for the Iosh Working Safely certification obtained in 2016.
