Senior Recruiter & Workforce Development Specialist at Virginia Community Healthcare Association

Bernadette Ramirez serves as Senior Recruiter/Workforce Development Specialist for Virginia Community Healthcare Association (VCHA). In this role, she is responsible for the fulfillment of staffing needs for VCHA’s member health centers by utilizing a variety of recruitment tools and resources to obtain qualified candidates. In addition, Bernadette represents VCHA at various residency and training program functions and works with state and national organizations regarding workforce issues.

Bernadette is highly skilled in oral and written communication with expertise in managing highly delicate and confidential topics. She has extensive experience with interacting and serving diverse groups with a focus on educating, motivating. and problem solving. Prior to joining VCHA, Bernadette worked in program development and management in both the medical and non-medical sector, as well as academic and personal coaching/counseling of both youth and adults through the City of Richmond and Henrico County Schools and court systems. Bernadette has also served as a private mediator in the Richmond area.

Bernadette attended the University of Richmond School of Continuing Studies Mediation Certification Program as well as studied at Virginia Commonwealth University. She served as past president of the Central Virginia Mediation Network, she’s a member of the Henrico County 26th Citizen’s Police Academy, served as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for Henrico County and on the Child First Committee of the Henrico County Juvenile & Domestic Relations District Court.
