Sarah Calvert

Sarah Calvert serves as the District Superintendent for the Northern Virginia District at the Virginia Conference of The United Methodist Church since June 2014, and has held various leadership roles including District Superintendent and Bi-District Coordinator for Church Revitalization and Leadership Development. Prior to this, Sarah spent a year on sabbatical traveling and preaching internationally, and served as Pastor at Page UMC from July 2010 to June 2013, where attendance grew significantly. Sarah has a Doctorate in Leadership from Wesley Theological Seminary, with a dissertation focused on clergy accountability, and an M.Div. from the same institution. Previous experience includes roles as Associate Pastor at Galilee United Methodist Church and as a small business attorney from 1992 to 2000, specializing in the growth and legal support of small businesses. Educational background includes a J.D. from George Mason University - Antonin Scalia Law School and a BS in International Business & Economics from the University of Mary Washington.
