Lisa M. Pride

Chief of Administration at Virginia Department of Transportation

Lisa Pride was named chief of administration of the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) in May 2019. In this capacity, she oversees the Office of Information Security and the Administrative Services, Human Resources, Capital Outlay and Facility Management, and Performance Transformation divisions.

Pride is a collaborative and results-driven leader with more than 27 years of experience in the public and private sector. She has been with VDOT since 2006, serving as a financial services manager and later an assistant director of the agency’s Administrative Services Division (ASD). In 2012, she was named director of ASD, where she led nearly 100 employees responsible for procurement of goods and services contracts totaling more than $700 million annually, capital outlay project design and construction, facility management, records management and support functions.

Before joining VDOT, Pride spent several years in the private sector as a senior level manager in operations, financial and strategic planning. Throughout her career, she has embraced challenges, developing a broad spectrum of experiences and skills in accounting, procurement, operations, strategic planning, business process re-engineering, facility construction and management, policy and legislative support – all with a focus on continuous growth and improvement.

Pride earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Old Dominion University. She is a certified public accountant and a graduate of the Virginia Executive Institute.
