Sharad Uprety, P.E., PTOE, PMP, RSP2I, has over 15 years of experience in traffic engineering and transportation management, currently serving as the Conceptual Planning Program Manager at VDOT since December 2011. Uprety has held various roles at VDOT, including supervising a team of engineers and technicians, managing traffic signal operations for the Central Region, and leading traffic studies for major freeway projects. Prior to VDOT, Uprety worked as a Transportation Engineer at ATEC, where responsibilities included traffic operations analysis and safety studies. Uprety also gained experience at HNTB, focusing on traffic safety and operations projects. Uprety holds master's degrees in Civil Engineering (Transportation) from Marquette University and Traffic Engineering from Florida International University, as well as a Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering from the Institute of Engineering, Pulchowk Campus.
