Gerhard Schoenthal

Gerhard Schoenthal is an experienced operations leader with a robust background in microelectronics and semiconductor processing. As COO and Director of Operations at Virginia Diodes, Inc. since May 2004, Gerhard manages 50 employees and oversees all production aspects, contributing to yearly revenue growth of $10 million. Prior roles include Director of Microelectronics, where responsibilities encompassed the entire fabrication line within a class 10K clean room, and Director of Laboratories, overseeing the construction of a manufacturing facility. Earlier experience includes serving as a Senior Process Engineer at Intel and as a Research Assistant at the University of Virginia, along with a tenure as a Surface Warfare Officer in the US Navy. Gerhard holds a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Virginia and a B.S. in Physics from the United States Naval Academy.
