Michael "Mickey" Dowdy currently serves as the Vice President for Advancement at The Virginia Home, focusing on enhancing the financial sustainability of the nonprofit, which has provided care for Virginians with permanent physical disabilities since 1894. Previously, Dowdy held significant roles in various esteemed institutions, including Chief Development Officer at Virginia Commonwealth University, where the Wright Access Scholarship Program was established and fundraising targets were exceeded during the Make It Real Campaign. At the University of Maryland, Baltimore, Dowdy served as VP for Development and CEO of the UMB Foundation, and at East Carolina University, led a successful $200 million comprehensive campaign. Dowdy's earlier experience includes serving as President of the MCV Foundation and Vice President for Advancement at the University of Mary Washington.
