Kelly Herbst

Astronomy Curator at Virginia Living Museum

Kelly Herbst has extensive experience in astronomy education and programming, currently serving as the Standard SciDome Owner at Spitz, Inc. since 2008. In addition, Kelly has been the Astronomy Curator at the Virginia Living Museum since 1997, overseeing astronomy education, managing the Abbitt Observatory and Planetarium, and producing various planetarium shows. Previous roles include Assistant Director of Astronomy, where Kelly expanded summer camp offerings and enhanced astronomy-related programs for scouting groups. As a Planetarium Lecturer, Kelly developed and presented educational programming for K-12 students and the general public. Educational qualifications include a Doctoral Degree in Theoretical Nuclear Physics from William & Mary and a Bachelor of Science in Physics from Wagner College.
