The Virginia National Guard is a unique dual-status force with a federal mission to provide a combat reserve for the U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force to fight our nation’s wars and a state mission to provide a response force answering the call of the Governor when citizens of the commonwealth are in need. More than 9,000 personnel in the Virginia Army National Guard, Virginia Air National Guard and Virginia Defense Force as well as the state and federal civilian workforce serve in more than 50 communities across the state.

The Operations and Logistics Team of the Virginia National Guard coordinates and manages strategic, operational, and tactical logistical support for military and state missions. This includes planning and executing training, ensuring readiness and security, and overseeing the supply chain for essential resources. The team plays a critical role in sustaining the Guard's capabilities to respond effectively to both national defense and state emergencies.
