Vera Pleasants

Vera Pleasants, MBA, has significant experience in financial management and investment operations, currently serving as the Manager of Investment Operations at the Virginia Retirement System since July 2008, where responsibilities include overseeing trade operations for fixed income and public equity portfolios and managing collateral for OTC derivatives. Prior to this, Vera worked as the Assistant Controller at the City of Richmond from October 2007 to January 2009, where duties encompassed maintaining official accounting records, handling bank reconciliations, and budget forecasting. Additionally, Vera was the Assistant Vice President and Treasury Operations Manager at Saxon Mortgage from 2004 to 2007, focusing on cash management and capital raising through bond issuance. Vera holds an MBA in Business Administration from Averett University and a BS in Accounting from Lincoln University (MO).
