Imani Fennell has a diverse work experience in the education field. Imani started their career as a Lead Teacher at KIPP DC in 2017, where they taught in an urban area for three years. Imani'sresponsibilities included collecting and analyzing student data, collaborating with team members, and providing high-quality instruction. In 2020, they joined DC International School as a Lead Teacher, focusing on virtual education and curriculum development aligned with Next Generation Science Standards. From 2021 to 2022, they worked as an Education Coordinator at So Others Might Eat (SOME, Inc.), where they created content and curriculum, trained program staff, and advocated for families with academic or behavioral issues. Currently, in 2022, they serve as a STEM Project Coordinator at Virginia Tech Applied Research Corporation.
Imani Fennell completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry at Spelman College from 2013 to 2017. Following that, they pursued a Master of Arts in Secondary Education and Teaching at Relay Graduate School of Education from 2017 to 2019. In January 2021, they obtained a Special Education Certification from the DC Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE).
