Matt Wolfe

Vice President, Technology at Virginia Tech Applied Research Corporation

Matt Wolfe has a diverse work experience spanning multiple roles and companies. Matt began their career in 2001 as a Research Fellow at the National Institutes of Health, where they worked until 2005. Matt then joined Schafer Corporation as a Senior Scientist from 2005 to 2010. Following this, they worked as a Research Scientist at SLAA from 2010 to 2013. In 2013, they transitioned to the US Federal Government as a Technical Operations Officer, a role they held until 2016. From 2016 to 2018, they served as the Decision Sciences Lead at the Virginia Tech Applied Research Corporation. Matt then moved on to become the Director of Strategy, Policy, and Planning from 2018 to 2019, and later the Director of Technology from 2019 to 2021 at the same company. Currently, they hold the position of Vice President, Technology at the Virginia Tech Applied Research Corporation, starting in July 2021.

Matt Wolfe received their Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry from the College of Charleston, which they attended from 1992 to 1994. Matt then pursued their education further at the University of Minnesota, where they obtained their PhD in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, and Biophysics from 1994 to 2000. Prior to attending the College of Charleston, Matt Wolfe attended Furman University from 1990 to 1992, although specific information regarding the degree obtained and field of study is not available.
