David Moats

David Moats currently serves as an Assistant Basketball Coach for Virginia Tech Athletics since September 2025. Prior to this role, David was an Assistant Basketball Coach at Boise State Athletics from July 2023 to September 2025. David's experience at Boise State University includes positions as Director Of Recruiting and Director Of Basketball Operations from May 2017 to July 2023. Earlier in the career, David worked as Director Of Operations at Weber State University from May 2014 to May 2017. Educationally, David holds a Master's degree in Sports Management from the University of Florida (2012-2014), a Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology and Exercise Science from the University of Wyoming (2010-2012), and an Associate's degree in Physical Education Teaching and Coaching from Northwest College (2008-2010).
