Additionally, Serene Al-Momen is an Advisory Committee Member on Commercialization at CIT, an Adjunct Professor at both Georgetown University and George Mason University, and has previously held leadership roles at Innovative Integration LLC and Metters Industries, where responsibilities included strategy formulation and technology management. Educational credentials include a Ph.D. in Information Technology from George Mason University, a Master of Science from Johns Hopkins University, and a BS in Computer Science from Oklahoma State University.

VFF focus includes targeting regions outside of Northern Virginia, and minority, women and veteran-owned startup initiatives Commonwealth Commercialization Fund (CCF) | The Commonwealth Commercialization Fund, or CCF, was launched on July 1, 2020 to foster innovative and collaborative efforts in Virginia.
