Mike Henry has extensive work experience in the technology field. Mike began their career in 1996 at Ellucian, formerly Sungard Higher Education, where they worked as a Principal Technical Architect until 2004. In 2004, they joined Virginia529 as the Director of IT Operations, where they were responsible for planning, coordinating, and designing all operational activities of the IT division. Mike also served as the Technical Architect for the development division at the Virginia College Savings Plan. Mike is currently working at Virginia529 as the Chief Technology Officer.
Mike Henry has a Master of Science in Systems Engineering (MSSE) from Colorado State University Pueblo, which they obtained from 1991 to 1993. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Mathematics with Computer Science from Fort Lewis College between 1984 and 1989. In addition to their academic degrees, Mike has obtained several certifications, including Advanced Cloud Security Practitioner Blackhat 2020 from the Cloud Security Alliance in August 2020, as well as the GIAC GSEC certification from GIAC Certifications in March 2017.
