Director, Teaching & Learning Technologies at Virginia's Community Colleges

Sheri Prupis, Ph.D. has over 20 years of work experience in the field of educational technology and teaching. Sheri currently serves as the Director of Teaching & Learning Technologies at the Virginia Community College System. Prior to this, they worked as an Adjunct Faculty at Southern New Hampshire University. Sheri also has extensive experience in educational leadership, having served as the President Emeritus of the Board of Trustees at The Free Public Library of West Orange for almost two decades. Sheri has held various roles at NJEDge.Net, a New Jersey-based research and education network, including Vice President of Academic & Community Engagement, Director of Educational Technology Initiatives, Assistant Director, and Educational Technologist. Additionally, they have worked as an Adjunct Professor at Kean University, Bloomfield College, and Instructor at Berkeley College. Earlier in their career, Sheri worked as the Manager of Instructional Technology at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey and as an Independent Consultant providing academic technology strategic planning services. Sheri also has experience teaching basic computing skills to impaired adults through programs at the Jewish Vocational Service. Sheri Prupis earned their Ph.D. in Educational Technology from Rutgers University.

Sheri Prupis, Ph.D. holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Online Learning/Community College Leadership from Old Dominion University. Sheri also received a Graduate Certificate in Higher Education from the same institution. Sheri further pursued a Graduate Certificate in Educational Technology from the Rutgers Graduate School of Education. Additionally, they obtained a Certificate in Distance Education from Thomas Edison State University. Sheri holds a Master of Arts (M.A.)/All But Dissertation (ABD) degree in Sociology from New York University and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Sociology from Rutgers University-New Brunswick. Sheri has also obtained a Basic/Refresher certification in Social and Behavioral Research from the CITI Program.
