Alexander Cornelissen

Alexander Cornelissen, MS, is a seasoned professional in the field of toxicology with extensive experience in nonclinical studies and regulatory documentation. Currently serving as Senior Director of Toxicology at Viridian Therapeutics, Inc. since February 2023, Alexander previously held multiple roles at Acceleron Pharma, including Director of Toxicology and Senior Manager of Toxicology from May 2015 to June 2022. Earlier experience includes serving as Sr. Research Associate II at Cubist Pharmaceuticals and as Research Scientist at Charles River Laboratories, focusing on GLP Toxicity studies. Alexander holds a Master’s Degree in Toxicology from Michigan State University and a Bachelor's degree in Animal Science-Biological Sciences and Technology from the University of New Hampshire.
