Calvin Carpenter

Calvin Carpenter has extensive work experience in various roles within the fields of veterinary medicine, biomedical research, and grants management. Calvin is currently serving as the Chief Veterinarian at Virscio since February 2022. In their previous roles, Calvin has worked as a Council Member at AAALAC International, where they analyzed and evaluated institutions for accreditation and partnered with organizations to optimize biomedical research programs. Additionally, they worked as a Life Sciences Consultant, assisting small and medium-sized companies in developing therapeutics and medical devices, and as the Executive Director at AKC Canine Health Foundation. Calvin also held leadership positions at Alcon, A Novartis Division, overseeing the Animal Resources Unit, and at George Mason University, where they played a pivotal role in the construction and operationalization of a biocontainment facility. Calvin began their career in the United States Army, serving in roles such as Division Chief and Deputy Division Chief in medical research and grants management. Overall, Calvin Carpenter's work experience reflects their expertise in veterinary medicine, biomedical research, and program management.

Calvin Carpenter's education history includes a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree in Business Administration and Management from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Calvin also holds a Graduate Certificate in Regulatory Compliance from Hood College.

In terms of their veterinary education, Calvin earned a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Oklahoma State University. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Science in Animal Science at the same university.

Calvin recently obtained a Certificate in Nonprofit Management from Duke University in 2021. Additionally, they have several certifications, including an edX Verified Certificate for The Opioid Crisis in America from edX and a Nonprofit Management certification from Duke Continuing Studies, Professional Certificates.
