Dr. Simon J. Sonntag has a diverse work experience in the medical field. Dr. Simon J. is the Co-Founder and CEO of Virtonomy.io, a company that conducts data driven studies on virtual patients to shorten the time-to-market of medical products. Dr. Simon J. provides support to medical device manufacturers in various phases of the product life cycle.

Dr. Sonntag is also the Chair of the Notified Body Task Force at Avicenna Alliance. Dr. Simon J. holds a role as a Guest Lecturer at Technische Universität München.

Dr. Simon J. has been involved with the European Society for Artificial Organs since 2016, serving as a Governor and Co-Chair of the Working Group Heart Support. Dr. Simon J. is responsible for establishing relationships with other societies and chairing the Poster Awards.

Dr. Sonntag is the Founder and CEO of vyson GmbH, a company they established in 2019.

Dr. Simon J. co-founded ensagreen GmbH, which developed a new heat transfer fluid for heating and cooling systems. Dr. Simon J. has also held research positions at the Helmholtz Institute - RWTH Aachen University, where they served as a Group Leader and Research Associate.

Dr. Simon J. Sonntag completed their education with a strong background in the field of medicine and mathematics. Dr. Simon J. obtained their Dr. rer. medic degree in Theoretical Medicine from RWTH Aachen University, where they studied from 2011 to 2014. Prior to that, they completed their Diploma in Technomathematics at the Technical University of Munich from 2005 to 2010. In 2008, they also had the opportunity to study Biomedical Engineering at the National University of Singapore.
