Richard Simmonds

Richard Simmonds is a Managing Director at Virtu Financial, overseeing operations in the APAC region since May 2013. Prior to this role, Richard served as a Core Operations Engineer with a solid engineering foundation established through a D.Phil in Engineering Science from the University of Oxford. While at the University, Richard excelled as a Post-Doctoral Research Assistant, designing and constructing advanced optical systems and completing projects ahead of schedule. Richard also functioned as a Tutor, teaching undergraduate courses, and contributed to various engineering projects through internships at BP and Link Research. Additionally, Richard co-designed the website for the Oxford University Association Football Club. Academically, Richard holds an M.Eng (Hons) in Engineering Science from the University of Oxford, complemented by a reputable educational background at Dr Challoner's Grammar School.
