Kari started in the Property Casualty insurance industry out of high school and worked in various departments: Underwriting, Accounts Receivable technician, and later at the Help Desk where she started her IT career and pursued her Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Business Administration through Lakeland College in Sheboygan, WI.

In 2012, Kari pursued an opportunity in the health insurance industry within the COBRA division at Wageworks, which is now Health Equity. She was a Data Integration Engineer and worked with clients and vendors on their COBRA eligibility data integration needs. She also trained new associates in her role when acquisitions occurred. While at Wageworks she was promoted to Supervisor of Data Services and led the team handling data discrepancies and file-related issues.

Kari has served as Vice President of Kettle Moraine Insurance Professionals (KMIP). It’s a group of professionals in the insurance and risk management industries. KMIP is also part of the International Association of Insurance Professionals (IAIP) which is best known for insurance education, skills enhancement, and leadership development within the insurance industry. During her role with KMIP, she had co-chaired a cookbook to help with group functions, such as continuing education and attending regional or national conferences.

And while at Wageworks Kari helped co-chair another cookbook for the company, based on employee recipes. The sales of the cooked raised over $5000 for Feeding America.
