Nathan Wood

Robotics Engineer at Virtual Incision

Nathan Wood began their career in 2005 as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the Robotics and Mechatronics Laboratory at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Nathan also held two internships at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory as a Space Grant Intern. In 2006, they began working as a Graduate Student Researcher at the Advanced Surgical Technologies Lab at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. In 2007, they held an Engineering Internship at Honeybee Robotics. From 2009 to 2016, Nathan worked as a Graduate Student Researcher at the Surgical Mechatronics Lab at the Robotics Institute at Carnegie Mellon University. Finally, they worked as a Robotics Engineer at Virtual Incision Corporation from 2016 onwards.

Nathan Wood attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln from 2001 to 2005, earning a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Mechanical Engineering. Nathan then returned to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln from 2005 to 2008, earning a Master of Science (MS) in Mechanical Engineering. From 2009 to 2012, they attended Carnegie Mellon University, earning a Master of Science (MS) in Robotics. Finally, they attended Carnegie Mellon University from 2012 to 2015, earning a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Robotics.
