Julie Steinman Reece has a diverse work experience that includes roles in education and law. In 1995, they started as a Staff Consultant/Attorney at Ernst & Young and later moved on to work as an Attorney at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP in 1997. Julie then co-founded and co-directed the One World Language School in 2003, where they offered language classes for children. In 2014, Julie began working at the Virtual Learning Academy Charter School, initially as a Program Manager establishing learning pathways and later as the Director of Partnerships and Adult Education.

Julie Steinman Reece holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Chinese Language and Literature from Smith College. Julie also obtained a Juris Doctorate with Summa Cum Laude distinction from American University Washington College of Law. In addition, Julie has a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies (C.A.G.S.) in School Principalship from New England College. Julie has further pursued their interest in Chinese Language and Literature at Tunghai University. Julie is a certified Chinese Language Teacher, having obtained their certification from the New Hampshire Department of Education in April 2012. Julie is also a member of the Maryland Bar, although they currently hold an inactive status.
