Terry Garcia is a seasoned leader in the fields of science, exploration, and conservation with extensive experience spanning various roles. As the Founder and CEO of Exploration Ventures LLC since 2016, Terry provides strategic advice to global clients in diverse industries. Concurrently, Terry serves on the International Advisory Council for APCO Worldwide and co-founded UPROAR Global Media, focusing on conservation and biodiversity through innovative solutions. Previously, Terry held significant positions at the National Geographic Society, including Executive Vice President and Chief Science & Exploration Officer, managing numerous scientific research and conservation projects. Additionally, Terry contributed as a Commissioner for the National Commission on the BP Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill and held the title of Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Oceans and Atmosphere at NOAA. A legal expert, Terry practiced law as a partner at several prestigious law firms and holds a JD from The George Washington University Law School and a BA in International Relations from American University.
