Rick Smirl

Rick Smirl has extensive experience in the investment management industry. Rick currently serves as the Chief Operating Officer of Virtus Investment Partners, where they oversee various functions including product management, investment operations, and information technology. Prior to this, they held the same position at Russell Investments, where they managed global operations. Rick also served as the Executive Director/Chief Executive Officer of the State of Wisconsin Investment Board, and as the Chief Operating Officer of William Blair Investment Management. Earlier in their career, they worked as the Chief Legal Officer at Strong Capital Management and as a Partner at Keesal, Young & Logan, P.C.

Rick Smirl attended UC Irvine from 1985 to 1989, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in Economics. Rick then went on to study at Loyola Law School in Los Angeles from 1989 to 1992, obtaining a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree with a focus on Law.
