Aruna Joshi

Aruna Joshi, Ph.D., FRM, is a seasoned professional in risk management and model validation, currently serving as the Vice President of Model Risk Management at Visa since July 2019. Aruna has extensive experience in academia as an Adjunct Professor at the University of San Francisco, teaching courses in Market Risk and Capital Markets. Previous roles include Senior Vice President at Bank of the West and Vice President positions at Wells Fargo and Union Bank, where Aruna led independent model validations and developed risk rating methodologies. Earlier career highlights include leadership roles in risk modeling at The PMI Group and financial engineering at Barclays Global Investors, along with software engineering positions at Advisor Software and MSCI Barra. Aruna's educational background includes a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Master's degree in Financial Engineering from the same institution, among other degrees.
