Taigao

Taigao Ma is a Machine Learning Scientist at Visa, focusing on Payment Foundation Models since June 2024. Prior to this role, Taigao was a Graduate Student Research Assistant at the University of Michigan from September 2019 to May 2024, contributing to projects such as the OptoGPT foundation model for photonics simulation and inverse design. Additionally, Taigao served as a Graduate Student Instructor for various physics labs during this period. Experience includes a PhD internship at Visa in summer 2023, where Taigao worked on foundation models for transaction modeling, and an undergraduate research assistantship at the University of Michigan in 2018, where Taigao developed computational methods for dual-comb spectroscopy. Taigao holds a PhD in Physics from the University of Michigan (2024) and a Bachelor's degree in Physics from the University of Science and Technology of China (2019).
