Phil Brummond

Phil Brummond (PharmD, MS, FASHP) helps Visante clients to reach their greatest goals in achieving high-performance pharmacy that helps optimize financial results and clinical practice. His leadership of Visante’s client teams and his innovative approach to solving the most challenging situations brings tremendous value to hospitals, health systems, pharmaceutical manufacturers and technology firms.

Phil brings extensive business, clinical, operational and leadership experience to Visante clients to optimize business opportunities. Before joining Visante, Phil was the Chief Pharmacy Officer at Froedtert Health in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. In this role he built a leading health system pharmacy program where he was responsible for all aspects of strategic, operational, programmatic and business performance of the pharmacy enterprise which generated annual revenues exceeding $1.9 billion.

At Froedtert, Brummond also served as President of Froedtert Health Pharmacy Solutions (Froedtert Health’s ambulatory pharmacy business enterprise) and President of VertuRx (Froedtert’s pharmacy benefit management solution). Both of these organizations were established and have grown under Brummond’s leadership.

While at Froedtert Health, Brummond also served as Associate Dean of Health-System Pharmacy Services at the Medical College of Wisconsin School of Pharmacy and as Program Director for the Health-System Pharmacy Administration and Leadership Residency Training Program. He is a faculty member within the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee Masters of Healthcare Administration (MHA) program where he teaches Strategic Planning in Healthcare.

Brummond is a prolific writer and speaker in the pharmacy industry where he is a sought-after speaker in the areas of leadership development, high-value pharmacy enterprise management, workload and productivity and payer strategies in healthcare. Brummond’s leadership has extended to many professional organizations, including the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP), the Pharmacy Society of Wisconsin (PSW) and the Vizient University Health System Consortium Pharmacy Network. Brummond’s professional recognitions include the PSW Innovation in Excellence Award Recipient, Fellowship of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists, ASHP Section of Pharmacy Practice Leaders Chair and the Vizient University Health System Consortium Pharmacy Network Vice Chair.

Brummond earned his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Minnesota College of Pharmacy and M.S. degree from the University of Wisconsin where he also completed residency training in Pharmacy Practice and Pharmacy Administration at the University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics.
