Vaidehi Joshi

Director, Discovery Biology at Viscient Bio

Vaidehi Joshi has a diverse work experience in the biotechnology and healthcare industries. Vaidehi currently serves as a Member of the Board of Directors and Chair of the S&T Committee at Organovo Holdings, Inc. since 2022. Prior to this, they worked at Viscient Bio Inc, where they held multiple roles including Director of Discovery Biology, Senior Scientist/Project Lead, and Scientist II from 2019 to 2021.

From 2012 to 2019, Joshi worked at Organovo Holdings, Inc., initially as a Scientist II and later as a Scientist I. In these roles, they managed the development of 3D bioprinted therapeutic human liver tissues for in vivo efficacy studies and designed custom liver models for therapeutic applications. Vaidehi also collaborated with external researchers, oversaw documentation, data review, and report generation, and optimized cell growth and tissue culture.

Earlier in their career, Joshi worked as a Senior Research Associate and Research Associate at Organovo Holdings, Inc., conducting innovative research, developing biomaterials, and performing in vivo implantation of 3D bioprinted constructs.

Before entering the biotechnology field, they briefly worked as a Research Associate at Baxter Bioscience in 2011.

Joshi also has experience in academia, having worked at UCLA as a Laboratory Assistant and Graduate Student Researcher. In these roles, they focused on projects related to intestinal tissue regeneration, hydrogel development, and drug delivery systems.

At the start of their career, Joshi worked at Cerner Corporation as a Software Test Engineer and intern.

Vaidehi Joshi obtained a bachelor's degree in Biotechnology from Rashtreeya Vidyalaya College of Engineering (RVCE). Vaidehi later pursued a master's degree in Biomedical Engineering, specializing in Tissue Engineering, from UCLA. In 2023, they attended The Wharton School for Executive Education, where they focused on Corporate Governance. Additionally, they obtained a certification in "Corporate Governance: Maximize your effectiveness in the boardroom" from The Wharton School in April 2023.
