Andrew Barajas

Andrew Barajas has a long history of experience in the engineering field. Andrew began their engineering career in 1999 as a Student Research Intern at the California Institute of Technology, where their project focused on multi-electrode and imaging analysis of cultured networks. Andrew then worked as a Student Research Intern at the University of Southern California in 2002, where they tested and developed neural prosthesis theories using in vivo testing methods. In 2006, they returned to the University of Southern California as a Summer Research Intern and simulated neural network signaling and used it for neural prosthesis development through VLSI chip design. From 2013 to 2021, they worked at Edwards Lifesciences as a Sr. Electrical Hardware Engineer, Biomedical R&D Systems/Hardware Engineer I, and Biomedical Engineering Intern. In 2021, they began working at Viseon, Inc. as a Lead Electrical Engineer, where they work on R&D New Product Development (NPD) and New Product Introduction (NPI) for medical device disposable electronics, flex circuit design and manufacturing, high definition video/LVDS, and power over coax (POC) electronic products.

Andrew Barajas began their educational journey in 2003 at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in Biology, with a field of study in Biology, General. From 2007 to 2012, they attended California State Polytechnic University-Pomona, earning a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and Biology, with a field of study in Biotechnology and Instrumentation. Finally, from 2012 to 2014, they attended Keck Graduate Institute of Applied Life Sciences, where they earned a Master's of Bioscience, with a field of study in Medical Devices/Diagnostics.
