Mya S. Thu has a diverse range of work experience in various roles and industries. Mya S. is the Co-Founder and CEO of VisiCELL Medical Inc., a position they have held since October 2017. Prior to that, they founded and served as the CEO of HIRR Consulting, LLC starting in September 2011.

Mya S. played a key role in developing a cellular labeling method for stem cells and immune cells for real-time tracking by MRI, which was successfully transferred to cGMP facilities for scale-up manufacturing. Mya S. also obtained FDA approval for the technology's inclusion in a clinical trial and published the technology in Nature Medicine.

Prior to NIH, Mya worked as a Research Associate II at City of Hope from June 2006 to September 2009. Mya S. developed an in vivo imaging method for monitoring therapeutic neural stem cells and secured project-related funding, established collaborations, and generated a peer-reviewed article.

Mya S.'searlier work experience includes roles as a Staff Research Associate II at UCLA from June 2005 to June 2006 and as a Graduate and Undergraduate Research Assistant at USC Viterbi School of Engineering from August 2003 to May 2005. The technology they worked on at USC was spun out as Pulse Biosciences, Inc.

Throughout their career, Mya has demonstrated expertise in biomedical imaging, business development, and stem cell-based therapies. Mya S. has made major accomplishments in developing innovative technologies, securing funding, establishing collaborations, and obtaining regulatory approvals.

Mya S. Thu obtained a Bachelor's degree in Biomedical-Electrical Engineering from the University of Southern California in 2003. Mya S. then pursued a Master's degree in Medical Devices and Diagnostic Engineering from the same university, completing it in 2005.

In 2014, Mya S. Thu received a Certificate in Inveon CT/SPECT/PET Applications from Siemens Professional Education. Later that year, they enrolled at UC San Diego and earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree between the years 2014 and 2016.
