Heather Huckeba has a diverse work experience in the field of research and consulting. Heather is currently serving as the Director of Research at Visit California since February 2019. Prior to this, they worked as a Research Consultant at Strategic Marketing and Research Insights (SMARInsights) from August 2018 to February 2019, where they supported various projects for the Visit California account. Before that, they held the position of Research Project Coordinator at Arkansas State Parks & Tourism from November 2016 to July 2018, where they developed and managed a research program to enhance tourism marketing strategies in Arkansas.

Heather has also worked as a Consultant to the Friends of the Historic White River Bridge @ Clarendon from November 2015 to June 2016. In addition, they have prior experience as a Vice President at Ipsos from July 2011 to January 2015, and as a Senior Study Directory, Account Group Manager at Synovate from 2004 to 2011. Their earlier experience includes roles such as Associate Study Director, Study Director, and Senior Study Director at Market Facts from 1999 to 2003.

Before venturing into the research field, Heather served as the Deputy Director and Child & Family Advocate at the Brooklyn Child Advocacy Center from 1995 to 1998, where they played a pivotal role in the day-to-day operation of the center and provided assistance to child abuse victims and their families. Overall, Heather has a strong background in research, project management, and client service.

Heather Huckeba has a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from New York University, which they obtained from 1993 to 1995. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Social Work and Metropolitan Studies, graduating Magna Cum Laude in 1993.

In addition to their formal education, Heather has obtained certifications as a Level 4 Whitewater Canoe Instructor and a Level 4 Whitewater Kayak Instructor from the American Canoe Association. Heather received the Whitewater Kayak Instructor certification in April 2009 and the Whitewater Canoe Instructor certification in May 2013.
