Matthew Halvorson is an accomplished marketing professional with extensive experience in the film industry. Currently serving as Director of Marketing and Film Commissioner for San Luis Obispo County at Visit SLO CAL since March 2023, Matthew has also held significant roles such as Chief Operating Officer at Atlas Alpha Inc., Founder and Editor at Halv Media, and Executive Director of International Marketing at Lionsgate. Additionally, Matthew spent eight years at Lakeshore Entertainment as Vice President of International Marketing, overseeing marketing, distribution, and publicity for theatrical releases. Earlier career contributions include roles in marketing at Goldcrest Films focused on grassroots online campaigns. Matthew holds a BAS in Communication from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and has furthered education at UCLA.

Visit SLO CAL works in partnership with tourism industry-related businesses including lodging properties, restaurants, wineries, activities, golf courses and retail stores to create a unified marketing approach that promotes the Culinary, Coastal and Cultural assets of the County.
