Whitney Chaney

Whitney C. currently serves as the Director of Community Engagement and Advocacy at Visit SLO CAL since February 2024, where responsibilities include leading initiatives for San Luis Obispo County’s growth and sustainability. Prior to this role, Whitney was the Program Director at Downtown SLO from March 2018 to February 2024, overseeing the Thursday Night Farmers’ Market and managing various organizational programs. Whitney's extensive experience also includes positions such as Farmers' Market Manager, Front Of House Supervisor at California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo, and Retail Store Owner & Manager at Central Coast Surfboards. Additional roles include managing volunteer programs for the Sundance Institute and San Francisco Film Society, along with outreach coordination for Boarding For Breast Cancer. Whitney holds a Bachelor of Arts in Film and Media Studies from UC Santa Barbara.
