Amanda Galvin-Johnston

Amanda Galvin-Johnston has a diverse range of work experience in proposal management, writing, and editing. Amanda most recently worked as a Strategic Proposal Manager at Vista Higher Learning starting in 2023. Prior to that, they held the same role at Stride, Inc. from 2021 to 2023.

In 2020, Amanda worked as a Proposal Writer/Manager at Examity, where they sharpened their skills in crafting compelling proposals. From 2016 to 2020, they served as the Strategic Proposal Lead at itslearning, taking ownership of the entire RFP/Proposal process for the US subsidiary of the company. Amanda managed large-scale K-12 proposals, wrote and edited RFP content, and acted as the Loopio RFP software champion for the entire organization.

Prior to that, Amanda held the role of Proposal Writer & Editor at The MENTOR Network from 2008 to 2011, where they specialized in writing complex proposals for social services. Amanda worked closely with colleagues and program managers to develop compelling proposals.

Amanda began their career as a Proposal Editor and Content Editor at Kaiser Permanente from 2002 to 2004, where they edited health care proposals, revised marketing materials, and wrote member materials. Amanda also worked as a Content Editor at K12 from 2001 to 2002, editing lesson plans for an online home-schooling program.

In 2000, Amanda worked as a Content Editor at Sciencewise, writing and editing articles for a science and engineering website. Amanda also wrote marketing materials and newsletters for distribution.

Amanda Galvin-Johnston obtained their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in American/United States Studies/Civilization from the University of California, Santa Cruz, where they studied from 1987 to 1992. In 1991, they also had the opportunity to enhance their skills in Fine Art Photography at the Institut d'arts Visuels in Orleans, France.
