Fazim Bacchus has a long and varied work experience. In 2012, they began their career as an Intern at the Queens District Attorney's Office, where they assisted the Assistant District Attorney in preparation of case files, performed legal research on admissibility of evidence and testimony in criminal trials, and transcribed inmate conversations to be used as evidence. In 2015, they became a Client Immigration Representative at Berry Appleman & Leiden LLP, where they managed a high volume workload within a deadline-driven environment, devised new and efficient compliance methods for Clients, and conducted weekly audits. In 2016, they were a Clinical Student at Lincoln Square Legal Services, where they interviewed parties who owe an outstanding liability to New York State or the Internal Revenue Service, facilitated resolutions with the IRS and NYS on behalf of low income individuals, and counseled clients in avoiding accrual of tax liabilities and penalties. In 2017, they became an Intern at Andersen Tax, where they prepared and reviewed detailed lead schedules and reports, demonstrated in-depth knowledge of the Internal Revenue Code, and prepared tax installment payments for clients. That same year, they also began working at JCDecaux as an Assistant General Counsel, where they developed, implemented, and oversaw corporate policies and procedures, reviewed and negotiated commercial contracts, provided advice and counsel regarding advertising programs, identified and informed appropriate stakeholders of business and legal risks, monitored and provided proactive guidance to employees on legal developments, advised on global privacy and data protection regulations, drafted privacy and data protection policies, procedures, and notices, reviewed and revised draft solicitations documents, and audited internal legal processes. In 2020, they began working at Vistar Media as General Counsel and Corporate Counsel.
Fazim Bacchus obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) from Baruch College in 2013, majoring in Political Science and Government and Sociology. Fazim then went on to attend Fordham University School of Law, where they obtained a Doctor of Law - JD in 2018. In 2015, they obtained a LexisNexis Professional Research Certification from LexisNexis, and in 2019 they obtained a Certified Information Privacy Professional - United States (CIPP/US) from the International Association of Privacy Professionals.
