Hamish Maxwell

SVP, Flight Operations at Vistara

Hamish Maxwell is currently the SVP of Flight Operations at Vistara. Prior to their current position, Hamish worked as a business analyst at the Taranaki District Health Board from October 2014 to July 2017. Before their work in the health sector, Hamish was an analyst at Powerco from April 2007 to October 2014. In this role, they were responsible for supporting Program Managers in monitoring the progress and performance of capital and maintenance programs totalling approximately $100M of works annually. Additionally, they were tasked with monthly reporting, co-ordination of the annual budget and quarterly forecasts, responding to requests for data and analysis from the regulatory team, and other ad hoc requests for analysis relating to maintenance and capital works.

Hamish began their career in 1999 as a costing business analyst at New Zealand Post. In this role, they were responsible for developing and managing the system that supported the model for the corporate product profitability (CPP) across the letters business. This included developing several Access Databases and Oros ABC Software (now owned by SAS), as well as scoping and implementing ABC data capture for the rural delivery business as part of the overall CPP model. Hamish then moved to the Letters Business Planning team to support the development of the annual business plan for the Letters business. Their final posting at New Zealand Post was working in the Mail Sorting Technology team, where they analysed and modelled the current utilisation of mail sorting technology at mail centres to support redesign

Hamish Maxwell completed a BSc in Ecology (Marine and Plant) at Victoria University of Wellington. Hamish then went on to complete high school at Tawa College in the Physical Sciences field.
