Eric Gaffen

Eric Gaffen has over 15 years of experience in talent acquisition and employee experience roles. Eric is currently serving as the Head of Talent Acquisition & Employee Experience at Visterra Inc. Prior to this, Eric was the Head of Talent Acquisition at Evelo Biosciences from June 2021 to July 2022.

From April 2017 to June 2021, they held the position of Director, Global Talent Acquisition, Onboarding & Employer Branding at ERT. In this role, Eric led a global team that delivered talent acquisition, talent management, and onboarding programs across 8 countries and 17 offices.

Before joining ERT, Eric worked as the Director of Talent Acquisition & Employment Branding at Ipswitch, Inc. from June 2015 to March 2017. Eric also served as a Senior Talent Acquisition Consultant at NetBrain Technologies Inc. in 2015.

Additionally, Eric has experience in talent acquisition and consulting roles at TripAdvisor (October 2014 to January 2015) and Acquia (April 2013 to October 2014), where they managed international teams and played a key role in the expansion of the companies.

Earlier in their career, Eric worked as the Director of Recruiting at Agero, Inc. from May 2007 to April 2013. Eric also served as an Employment Manager at Aviva Life Insurance from January 2006 to April 2007.

Eric started their career as an HR Generalist at Liberty Mutual, where they focused on recruiting a national sales force and developing staffing strategies. Eric worked at Liberty Mutual from 2002 to 2005.

Eric Gaffen completed their high school education at Northfield Mt. Hermon School, earning a HS Diploma between 1989 and 1993. Eric then pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and Business Administration from the University of Mary Washington from 1993 to 1997. After completing their bachelor's degree, they went on to obtain a Master's degree in Human Resources from the University of Westminster from 1997 to 1998.
