Camilo Ordonez has extensive work experience in the energy industry. Camilo started their career as a Research Assistant at UC Berkeley, where they monitored generators bidding behavior in the California market and conducted econometric analysis. Camilo then moved on to LCG Consulting, where they worked as an Energy Consultant, focusing on the US Eastern Interconnection and the PJM ISO. Camilo gained expertise in the UPLAN model and used it for price forecasting and valuation of generation and transmission assets. In 2010, Camilo joined Luminant as a Senior Analyst, specializing in Grid Optimization and Fundamental Analysis. Camilo provided assessments of transmission grid impacts on Luminant's generation fleet and recommended cost justified transmission improvements. Camilo also performed transmission system studies and developed optimum transmission upgrades. In 2013, Camilo was promoted to Director of Grid Optimization and Transmission Trading at Luminant, overseeing the optimization of the company's grid and managing transmission trading. In 2018, Camilo joined Vistra Corp. as the Director of NA Nodal Trading and Analytics. Camilo played a crucial role in the company's nodal trading operations and analytics. Camilo later became the Vice President of Nodal Trading, Analytics, and Asset Management. Currently, they hold the position of Vice President of Financial and Transmission Trading at Vistra Corp.

Camilo Ordonez's education history includes a Professional Program in Environmental Economics and Sustainable Development from The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) in 2011. Camilo also completed a Professional Program in Energy in the Context of Climate Change Policy from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2010. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley from 2005 to 2007. In addition, they pursued a minor in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research during the same period at the University of California, Berkeley.
