Nicholas Macksey

Mr. Macksey is a Managing Director at Baring Private Equity Asia (“Baring Asia”), the largest Asian private equity, real estate and credit investment firm in Asia with over US$11 billion under management. The firm specializes in buyouts, real estate and credit investments targeting growing businesses with enterprise values between US$300 million and US$3.0 billion. Primary investment markets include China, India, Japan, South East Asia, South Korea, Australia, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. The firm has been actively investing in Asia since 1997, currently has 40 active portfolio companies and 160 professionals across eight offices in Asia.

Mr. Macksey joined Baring Asia in 2006 and has extensive experience in the education, business services and information and data analytics sectors. He currently serves on the boards of Vistra Group, Nord Anglia Education, SAI Global and Clarivate Analytics.

Mr. Macksey holds a Bachelor in Economics and a Bachelor in Commerce from the University of Queensland. He is also a CFA Charterholder.
