Kishan Savant

Kishan Savant has worked in a variety of roles in the engineering field since 2014. In 2014, they were a Mechanical Engineering Intern at GEECY Engineering Private Limited, where they conducted a theoretical design study of different types of nozzles, tube sheets, and baffles shapes used in the manufacturing of heat exchangers and pressure vessels. From 2015-2017, they were a Mechanical Engineering Trainee at Mazagon Dock Ltd, where they developed a welding (Coupled Structural-Thermal) stress simulation on ANSYS FEA software. In 2017, they became a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Houston, where they worked on the project 'Participatory Operational Assessment (POA): Evaluating and predicting the operational effectiveness of Cargo Security Processes at Ports of Entry.' From 2018-2021, they were a Lead Engineer (Product Development) and Freelance Engineer at Fruition Technology Labs (now HeadWay Idea Labs). During this time, they developed the mechanical and electrical systems for a prototype Atmospheric Water Generator, engineered sensor embedded wearable IoT prototypes with Bluetooth low energy (BLE) data transfer to the cloud, and designed and built a BLE enabled prototype IoT medical device with an audio processing board for receiving multiple audio signals with data conversion to a standard JSON format for further processing and analysis. In 2019, they were a Mechanical Engineer at AquaVapor and a Prototype Development Engineer at JSleeve. At JSleeve, they designed and developed prototypes for motion-based sensor wearables, and developed prototype mobile applications using Android/Java, processing and manipulating real-time data via Bluetooth (BLE) connection from advanced motion sensors chip (IMU), as well as data storage locally and in cloud. In 2021, they became an Independent Contractor at Arrikto, where they made open source contributions to the kubeflow/examples GitHub repo, and wrote a blog post. Currently, they are a Software Engineer (Software Development) at Visual Collaboration Technologies, Inc.

Kishan Savant's education history includes earning a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Mumbai between 2012 and 2016, and a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Houston between 2016 and 2017. Kishan then went on to obtain certifications from Udacity, Kaggle, Coursera, and IIT Bombay. In 2020, they obtained an Introduction to Self-Driving Car NanoDegree from Udacity and an Introduction to Self-Driving Cars from Coursera. In 2021, they obtained an AWS Machine Learning Foundations from Udacity, an Intermediate Machine Learning from Kaggle, and is currently enrolled in a C++ Nanodegree from Udacity. Kishan also obtained a MATLAB Programming for Numerical Computation from NPTEL Online Certification in 2016, and an E-Yantra National Level Robotics Competition from IIT Bombay in 2014.
