Colin Dunn

Colin Dunn is an experienced product designer and CEO who has worked in a variety of companies ranging from start-ups to big corporations. In 2022, they founded Visual Electric, a startup backed by Sequoia that focuses on AI visual design tools. Before that, they were the Head of Design at Universe, where they led a unified product and brand design org, grew the team from 3 to 12 people, and was a member of the Executive Leadership Team. Colin also led product design at Aspen, a creative collective called Playspace that built several products, including the all-in-one virtual meeting room called Playspace. Before starting Visual Electric, they worked as a Product Designer at Dropbox and Facebook, where they worked on Graph Search and prototyped user interface concepts. Early in their career, they worked on different design projects for Exobrain, an Ed-tech startup called Lore, Inc., and Pentagram, where they had a Graphic Design apprenticeship with Abbott Miller.

Colin Dunn attended Maryland Institute College of Art from 2008-2012 where they earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree in Graphic Design.
