Matt started Vital Farms in 2007 setting out to prove that it is possible to produce the highest quality food in an environmentally responsible manner from humanely treated animals on a commercial scale. Vital Farms now has over 200 family farms in nine states producing pasture raised organic eggs from happy hens. INC ranked Vital the fastest growing food company in the US in 2011 (#2 in 2012). Vital Farms' Eggs are the second best selling brand of eggs in the US today. Matt is also an accomplished chef, a vegetarian and organic gardener.
