Duane Nash

Duane Nash is the current CEO of Vital Therapies. Duane has also served on the board of directors for Akebia Therapeutics and Aerpio Therapeutics.

Nash began their career as a consultant before becoming the CEO and board member of Vital Therapies in 2012. Duane remained in this role until 2019, when they were appointed as the CEO of Akebia Therapeutics. Duane served in this role until 2018, when they left with the close of Akebia / Keryx merger.

Nash has been a member of the board of directors for Aerpio Therapeutics since 2012 and is currently the chairman of IP committee.

Duane Nash has a BA in Biology from Williams College, an M.D. from the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth, and a residency in General Surgery from the University of California, San Francisco - School of Medicine. Duane also has an MBA in Management from the Saïd Business School at the University of Oxford and a J.D. in law and technology from the University of California, Berkeley - School of Law.
