Gretchen Conerly Abbott has over 18 years of experience in the field of IT management and program directing in the healthcare industry. Gretchen started their career at the American Red Cross in 2000 as a Program Director, where they worked for 8 years. In 2012, they joined Blood Systems as a Director of Software Release and Implementation. Currently, they are serving as the Vice President of BECS Applications at Vitalant, where they oversee compliance, reliability, maintenance, and support for biomedical computer systems.

Gretchen Conerly Abbott obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Eastern Illinois University between the years 1979 and 1983.
