Philip Norris

Vice President, Research & Scientific Programs at Vitalant

Philip Norris has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Philip currently holds the position of Vice President, Research & Scientific Programs at Vitalant since June 2015. Prior to that, they worked as a Professor at UC San Francisco, starting in 2005. Philip also served as the Director of Laboratory Science at Vitalant Research Institute from January 2004. Before these roles, Philip was a Fellow/Instructor in Infectious Diseases at Massachusetts General Hospital from 1998 to 2003. Philip began their career as a Resident at Duke University Health System, starting in July 1996. Philip also worked as an Intern at The Presbyterian Hospital in the City of New York from July 1995 to June 1996. Philip'searliest experience was as a Research Engineer at Tegal Corporation from January 1990 to June 1990.

Philip Norris completed their education in a chronological manner. Philip attended the University of California, Berkeley from 1985 to 1989, obtaining a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Bioengineering and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Molecular Biology. Following this, they pursued further studies at Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons from 1991 to 1995, earning a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree.
