Olivier Colliou

Olivier Colliou has a strong work experience in the field of wearable biosensors. Olivier started their career as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Orthopaedic Bioengineering Laboratory of the University of California, San Francisco in 1999. Olivier then worked as an R&D Engineer at InCube from 2000 to 2002, followed by a role as Senior R&D Engineer at Intrapace from 2002 to 2004.

In 2004, Colliou joined Proteus Digital Health as a Senior Project Manager and Mechanical Lead Designer. Olivier played a crucial role in the development of wearable wireless sensors capable of detecting digital pills and measuring activity, sleep, temperature, and heart rate. Colliou also led the mechanical design and development of a programmable cardiac electrode lead with embedded microchips at Proteus Digital Health.

Colliou's most recent work experience was at VitalConnect, where they held several leadership positions. Olivier started as the Director of Mechanical Design Engineering in 2015 and later became the Senior Director of Engineering in 2017. Currently, Colliou serves as the Vice President of Wearable Biosensors at VitalConnect. In this role, they lead, manages, and provides strategy for the biosensor team, overseeing the design and development of accurate medical-grade wireless wearable sensors that measure and transmit vital signs to the cloud. Colliou collaborates closely with cross-functional teams from various departments, including software, clinical, operations, marketing, quality, and regulatory.

Olivier Colliou has an extensive education history in the field of bioengineering. Olivier earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from Swarthmore College, where they studied from 1989 to 1993. Later, they pursued their PhD in Bioengineering from two prestigious universities - the University of California, Berkeley and the University of California, San Francisco. Olivier completed their doctoral studies at both institutions between 1993 and 1998.
