Leon Green

Leon Green, MSc, PMP, CSM has a diverse work experience spanning several decades. Currently, they hold the position of Vice President EPMO & IT Delivery at AmeriLife, a national leader in life and health insurance, annuities, and retirement planning solutions. In this role, they are responsible for enterprise project management and IT delivery.

Prior to joining AmeriLife, Leon worked at VITAS Healthcare as the Director of the Project Management Office. During their tenure, they managed transformative healthcare solutions programs, improved care team collaboration, and reduced administrative overhead while enhancing patient care. Leon also oversaw vendor contracts and relationships, implemented agile business practices, and provided performance feedback to their team.

Before VITAS Healthcare, Leon worked as an Independent Consultant at AAJ Technologies and as a Senior Project Manager at Ryder System Inc. and MAXIMUS. At Ryder System, they successfully led the design, development, and launch of a web-based enterprise-wide fleet management solution. At MAXIMUS, they spearheaded the design, development, and implementation of web-based healthcare information systems.

Leon's career began at KPMG Consulting, Inc. as a Managing Consultant, where they provided consulting services for health insurance and decision support systems. Leon played a pivotal role in launching systems that supported Medicaid, Managed Care, and State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP) at various client locations.

Leon also gained valuable experience at Electronic Data Systems as a Systems Engineer. In this role, they were responsible for the design and development of various subsystems within the Healthcare Information System (HIS). Leon'smajor accomplishments include developing an HIS with a client-server architecture that reduced administrative costs.

Leon Green has a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the State University of New York - System, which they obtained from 1987 to 1989. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Engineering Physics/Applied Physics from The University of the West Indies, Mona, between 1980 and 1984. Leon has additional certifications including Certified SAFe® 5 Product Owner/Product Manager obtained in December 2021, CSM (Certified Scrum Master) obtained in 2013, and PMP (Project Management Professional) obtained in February 2002 from the PMI South Florida Chapter. Leon is also expected to attend the Project Control Summit 2023 at the Project Control Academy.
