Dewi Hamwijk-Habermehl

Dewi Hamwijk-Habermehl has a diverse and extensive work experience. Dewi is currently serving as the Head of People, Culture & Legal at Vitestro since November 2022. Prior to this, they worked at The Social Handshake as the Chief Operations Officer (COO) from September 2021 to November 2022, and as the Head of Operations (incl. Legal & Charities) from September 2019 to August 2021. Before that, Dewi worked as an Attorney-at-law/Senior associate at Donahue & Partners LLP from December 2018 to August 2019. Dewi also gained legal experience at Allen & Overy, where they worked as an Attorney-at-law/Associate from December 2014 to September 2018.

Dewi's work experience also includes their role as a Juridisch adviseur at the Inter-American Development Bank, where they provided legal advice to the Suriname legislator for the design and implementation of the Secured Transactions Act. This consultancy took place in Paramaribo from February 2015 to July 2015.

Furthermore, Dewi has an academic background with experience in research and teaching at the University of Amsterdam. Dewi worked as a Postdoctoral researcher from June 2012 to May 2014 and as a PhD Candidate and Lecturer from November 2007 to June 2012. Dewi also had a short-term role as a Visiting Lawyer at the University of Chicago Law School in May and June 2012.

Additionally, Dewi had the opportunity to be a Visiting Scholar at Columbia University in the City of New York. Dewi held this position twice, first from January to April 2009, and then from January to August 2010. Dewi also completed an internship at ING Nederland from June to September 2007.
